What Vhernier is known for
Milanese jewelry maison founded 1984 in Valenza by sculptor Carlo Ciarli and Angela Camurati; sculptural pieces are still handcrafted in Valenza. Acquired by Richemont in 2024.
Vhernier began in 1984 as a jeweller's workshop in Valenza, the Piedmontese town long known for jewelry manufacturing, founded by sculptor Carlo Ciarli together with Angela Camurati. It took roughly six years for the pair to settle on the rounded, sculptural style - inspired by the human body and by modernist sculpture - that became the house's signature, often combining precious metals with unconventional materials such as titanium, bronze and ebony. Businessman Carlo Traglio acquired the company with his brother Maurizio and became president in 2001; the first standalone Vhernier boutique opened in Milan in 2002, followed by a Capri boutique in 2003. All pieces continue to be handcrafted in Valenza. In 2024, Swiss luxury group Richemont acquired Vhernier, which by then operated around 17 mono-brand boutiques worldwide.
