What Soilboy is known for
Singapore plant-design retailer that began online before opening physical shops, including a Thomson outlet and a New Bahru flagship in River Valley designed by studio Silo; sells curated indoor plants and handmade ceramic planters and runs workshops.
Soilboy began as an online plant retailer in Singapore before expanding into physical stores, and now operates at least two locations: an earlier Thomson outlet and a newer flagship at New Bahru, a retail development on the site of the former Nan Chiau High School campus in the River Valley area. The New Bahru flagship was designed by the studio Silo, which built the space around a farmhouse-and-warehouse-inspired aesthetic combining industrial and natural materials with intimate, dim lighting. Soilboy is positioned as a plant-design studio rather than a conventional nursery: it curates indoor plants and houseplants alongside handmade ceramic planters, and runs hands-on workshops, including bonsai-wiring classes.
