Gilhooley's has shucked oysters on Ninth Street in San Leon since 1988. The Chron names the raw bay oysters and Oysters Gilhooley — grilled with garlic butter and Parmesan. Eighteen and over; live music on the patio.
Raz Halili of Prestige Oysters built Pier 6 on Sixth Street in San Leon for a tide-to-table raw bar. Chef Joe Cervantez plates Gulf fish and oysters on a terrace that looks at the bay.
Topwater Grill opened on April Fool Point in 1999 and still looks at Galveston Bay. The kitchen plates shrimp and oysters from boats the house runs itself.
San Leon’s three doors are all coastal restaurants, each with a direct merchant page and a strong seafood identity. The town’s atlas presence is therefore best read as a waterside dining note.
Topwater Grill publishes its Avenue O waterfront location; Gilhooley’s centers an old-school seafood and oyster-bar format; Pier 6 pairs Gulf seafood with a large waterfront terrace. The three stops offer distinct versions of the same coastal setting.
Choose one primary meal and treat any second stop as a drink or walk rather than a full duplicate meal. Waterfront demand can be high on weekends, so check hours, parking and reservation policies before setting out.
