What Palm Angels is known for
Milan-based streetwear label launched January 2015 by designer-photographer Francesco Ragazzi, grown out of his 2014 photo book on LA skate culture, backed by New Guards Group.
Palm Angels grew out of a 2014 photography book of the same name by Francesco Ragazzi, an Italian designer and photographer who had worked with Moncler, documenting the young skateboarding scene of Los Angeles. After Ragazzi presented related work at an exhibition at Colette in Paris, New Guards Group approached him to develop a full clothing line, and Palm Angels launched in January 2015. The label is based in Milan but built its identity around the imagery and attitude of LA skate culture, applying Italian production and tailoring techniques to sweatshirts, track suits, and logo-driven streetwear.
