In the heart of Edgartown, North Water Gallery hangs contemporary and traditional paintings, sculpture and work in glass, much of it on maritime themes. Part of the island's Granary Gallery family, it also shows paintings by the late Ray Ellis, whose work hangs in the White House collection.

Founded by Cheryl Stark, who arrived on the island in 1966 after training in silversmithing at Boston's Museum School, this jeweler designs and makes pieces on Martha's Vineyard. It runs shops in both Edgartown and Vineyard Haven, showing its own work alongside a roster of other makers.
