Check the safety marking: look for the safety standard on toys and ask what the materials are.
Ask about exchanges: ask how long you have to exchange a size, especially when buying as a gift.

Gap operates in Jordan through regional franchise arrangements typical of American apparel brands entering the Middle East. Amman also has Gap locations on Wakalat Street in Swefieh and at City Mall in Um Al Summaq. Noppamas began around 1950 as one woman's backyard incense-making, made for friends and her children's teachers rather than for sale.
Best for Hand-rolled traditional Thai incense sticks from a Bangkok family business
Noppamas began around 1950 as one woman's backyard incense-making, made for friends and her children's teachers rather than for sale. As demand grew, her daughter — later joined by her own daughter, Sureeporn Rohitopakarn — turned the craft into a small trade, selling hand-rolled incense alongside traditional Thai perfume and scented powder from a stall at Bangkok's Wang Saranrom Sunday market. That weekend sideline became a standing incense business around 1960, run across what is now three generations of the same family, and was formally registered as a Limited Partnership in 1991 (per the company's own history page; a secondary directory listing shows 2015, likely reflecting that platform's own join date rather than true incorporation) from its base in Bangkok's Wang Thong Lang district. The house makes traditional Thai joss and fragrance incense sticks by hand-rolling wood powders, resins, and perfumed oils onto bamboo cores in the small-batch, household-scale method still typical of Thai incense production, and now exports beyond the domestic temple and home-altar market that built it. Three generations from a market stall to an exporting manufacturer is a modest but well-documented arc, and a rarer thing in incense retail than the founding claims usually offered without it.
Bellerose's Brussels Louise shop offers clothing for women and men, with a children's collection also listed. Located at 66 Avenue Louise, it brings the Belgian brand's casual wardrobe into a single store. Shoppers can explore clothing for different members of the family at the same address.
Best for Casual clothing for adults and children on Avenue Louise
Bellerose dates its beginning to the summer of 1989. The label defines its work around everyday essentials that combine comfort with considered design, a useful frame for a range spanning women and men, with children included. Current collections include clothing and footwear, alongside accessories, rather than a single specialist product. The family structure of the assortment matters: children's pieces are not an occasional extension hidden behind the adult lines, but a named part of the brand's navigation. Bellerose also describes sustainability as one criterion in selecting and making its essentials. That claim is broad, so it should not be inflated into an environmental certification. What the first-party material clearly supports is a company with a 1989 origin, a multi-generation wardrobe and an emphasis on daily use. Outerwear and knitwear sit beside denim in the current assortment, extending that wardrobe across seasons. The strongest editorial distinction is restraint. Bellerose builds its case through wearable categories and continuity rather than couture technique, formal tailoring or performance technology.
Babybear sells baby and mothercare products that include clothing and nursery furniture as well as toys among its ranges. Its catalogue also covers feeding equipment and strollers as well as car seats and supplies for pregnancy and early childhood. This is a multi-brand retail offer, not a claim that the products are manufactured by Babybear in Sri Lanka.
Best for Baby clothing, nursery equipment and mothercare supplies
BabyBear brings together baby and mothercare products from multiple brands, covering pregnancy through the early years. Its catalogue separates feeding equipment from clothing and nursery furniture. Toys and development products form another section, so the entry functions as a broad retailer rather than a manufacturer. The current product list gives that range useful precision. Nuna appears through the TRVL lx BMW Collection, while Joie is represented by the Litetrax 3 two-in-one stroller. CYBEX listings include the Gold Solution G2 Comfort car seat and the Solution B i-Fix booster seat for children aged three to twelve. Feeding and comfort products include Tommee Tippee bottles and soothers, with bowls also represented. Avent supplies cups and soothers. The catalogue carries both Rascals and Huggies nappies. Mustela skincare appears alongside products by Kidilo and Burbay. BabyBear identifies its flagship at 50 Flower Rd, Colombo 07. That address anchors the multi-brand offer in Colombo while the named products explain its practical breadth. Car seats and strollers cover transport needs. Feeding items sit beside clothing and nursery furniture, addressing several stages of early-childhood care without implying that BabyBear produces the goods. Its value lies in assembling recognised specialist labels within one mothercare catalogue.

Ginkgo makes clothing with graphics drawn from Vietnamese culture and everyday life, sold through shops in Ho Chi Minh City and elsewhere in Vietnam. Its range includes T-shirts for adults and children alongside shirts and accessories. The brand lists more than one shop on Le Loi Street, so choose the particular branch before setting out.
Best for Vietnam-inspired graphic T-shirts and casual clothing
Ginkgo is a Vietnam-based clothing and accessories label that foregrounds original design and material choice. Its clothing range covers adults and children, moving from T-shirts and polos to shirts and trousers as well as outerwear. Accessories extend the same graphic language into bags and stationery as well as hand fans as well as scarves and caps. Fabric categories provide a second way to understand the label. Organic cotton appears separately from Supima cotton, while linen has its own place in the range. Those distinctions make fibre part of the product identity rather than leaving it buried in care information. Ginkgo's breadth is therefore held together by two consistent ideas: artwork developed for the label and an explicit vocabulary of textiles. A graphic can move from a shirt to a smaller object, but the material changes how each version feels and functions. The business also connects its product pages with a story and creation programme, giving the designs context beyond a catalogue grid. Ginkgo operates as a Vietnamese design label whose apparel and objects share visual authorship. Cotton and linen choices supplying a practical material structure.

Original Marines was founded in 1983 by five entrepreneurs from Naples with a vision to introduce the American concept of relaxed, leisure-focused dressing to the Italian market. The brand began with a simple white t-shirt inspired by U.S. Marines apparel—that single design sold 25 million pieces within a decade, establishing the label as a benchmark in children's and youth clothing. Today, the company maintains its 100 percent Made in Italy designation and specializes in casual sportswear for newborns, babies, children, and teenagers, organized by age group with separate boys' and girls' collections. Original Marines operates over 500 stores across Italy and maintains a presence in more than 40 countries. The brand was acquired by Pamaf Retail S.r.l., a Naples-based company, underscoring continued regional ownership and commitment. French baby and childrenswear house founded in 1949, credited with an early absorbent-diaper innovation and the fastener-free 'Pyjigotte' pajama; still focused on newborn-to-age-3 essentials — pajamas, bodysuits and soft basics — now under Groupe Royer.
Best for French baby basics — pajamas, bodysuits, and soft essentials
Absorba was launched in 1949 by a founder named Poron, built around an innovative diaper design — a highly absorbent lining inspired by an American model — that was a commercial success from the outset and gave the brand its name. What began as a small family business grew into a widely recognized French layette brand, winning the 'oscar de la puériculture' childcare-industry award in 1959 in recognition of its baby-focused know-how. One of its best-known pieces, the Pyjigotte pajama, dispensed with snaps and zippers entirely and became a signature item as the brand expanded across Europe. More than 70 years on, Absorba remains focused on newborns and children up to age three, emphasizing soft, skin-friendly fabrics across pajamas, bodysuits, sleep sacks and related basics, and now operates as part of Groupe Royer. The brand's online retail presence today runs primarily through theabsorba.com.

French children's clothing label founded in 1972 by Monique and Paul Salmon, known for bright mix-and-match prints for ages 0–14; grew to roughly 100 stores worldwide by the mid-1990s and now belongs to Groupe CWF.
Best for Flower-power print childrenswear from Nantes since 1972
Catimini was founded in 1972 by Monique and Paul Salmon, making brightly printed clothing for children aged 0-14. From 1983 the brand ran a design program staffed by recent graduates of the Beaux-Arts, France's leading art school, feeding its mix-and-match, pattern-heavy aesthetic. It expanded quickly, reaching around 50 stores in 40 countries by 1987 and more than 100 stores worldwide by the mid-1990s. The brand is now part of Groupe CWF (Children Worldwide Fashion). Business records consistently point to Cholet, in the Pays de la Loire region, as Catimini's founding city - not Nantes; Nantes appears in the brand's later retail and business-registration history rather than its founding.
Founded in 1986 by theatre costume designer Simon Benharrous, who found children's fashion drab; the group now runs three lines (Enfants, Bébé, Chaussures) across more than 21 countries.
Best for Playful-print kids clothing, basics, and baby pieces
Du Pareil au Même (often abbreviated DPAM) was founded in 1986 by Simon Benharrous, who had worked as a theatrical costume designer and found the children's clothing available at the time drab, largely because it replicated adult fashion in smaller sizes rather than designing for children specifically. His first shop, opened that year under the Du Pareil au Même name, built its identity around playful prints, bright colors, and pieces conceived as children's clothing in their own right rather than scaled-down adult garments. The company grew into a group with three distinct retail lines: DPAM Enfants for older children, DPAM Bébé for babies and toddlers, and DPAM Chaussures for children's shoes. It has since expanded to more than 400 stores across more than 21 countries, making it one of the larger specialist children's clothing chains to emerge from the 1980s French ready-to-wear boom. The brand has weathered financial difficulty in recent years, including a court-supervised restructuring, but has continued operating and expanding its store network afterward.

Le Petit Souk began in 2005 in Lille, founded by Mathilde Chailloux as a colorful children's shop deliberately different from a conventional toy store - mixing birth gifts, retro-styled toys, playful tableware and decorative objects for kids and adults alike. In 2017 Xavier Marie, founder of home-decor chain Maisons du Monde, joined the venture to help it expand nationally. Since then Le Petit Souk has grown into a chain of more than 80 stores across France, Belgium and Italy, including several Paris arrondissements, alongside its e-commerce site. Best for Baby care, bath products, family body care and gentle gifts
Minois Paris was founded by Hélène Fulchi, who created the brand after the birth of her daughter, Paz, following a career of nearly a decade in communications and media. Unable to find children's skincare that met her own standards for ingredient transparency, Fulchi built Minois around three stated priorities: clean composition, demonstrable effectiveness, and considered design, rather than treating any one of the three as secondary to the others. Formulas average roughly 98% natural-origin ingredients, are manufactured in France, and are designed for use from birth, with ingredient lists Fulchi has described as deliberately kept "easy to read and understand" rather than dense with unfamiliar chemical names. The range spans bath and body care, gentle everyday skincare, and gift sets aimed at new parents, alongside its baby-focused core. Minois opened its first own-name boutique on rue Bachaumont in Paris, its home for five years before the shop temporarily closed to search for a new site — the brand's products, however, have continued to be distributed through French department stores including BHV and Galeries Lafayette throughout.

Founded in 1929 by goldsmith Umberto Cazzola in Vicenza; grandchildren Umberto and Ines patented the Flex'it technique, elasticating gold jewelry with microscopic 18-karat springs.
Best for Flex'it gold bracelets.
FOPE began in 1929, when Umberto Cazzola opened an artisan goldsmith's workshop in Vicenza, a city with a long-standing jewelry-making tradition. His son Odino later expanded the workshop into a larger factory and invented an expanding watch strap design. The next generation, Umberto and Ines Cazzola, developed the innovations most associated with the brand today: the Novecento mesh, a soft woven gold chain made by hooking components together without soldering, and the patented Flex'it technology, which builds elasticity into gold jewelry using microscopic 18-karat gold springs inserted into the construction. The FOPE name itself is an acronym adopted in the 1950s, standing for Fabbrica Oreficeria Preziosi Esportazione — roughly, 'precious goldsmithing export factory.' The company has since passed to a fourth generation, under Giulia Cazzola, and became a publicly listed company. The workshop remains based in Vicenza, where the Flex'it and Novecento techniques are still produced using the family's original methods.

Tarocash was founded in 1987 by brothers Stephen and Michael Leibowitz, who carried a family background in South African menswear retailing into the Australian market, initially wholesaling smart-casual menswear to other retailers before opening their own stores. Their first store traded under the name 'Cafe,' and by 1991 they had five locations; the brand name Tarocash itself was formed from the first two letters of each of their children's names. The chain grew to fill a gap the founders identified for coordinated, ready-to-wear smart-casual menswear for Australian men, distinct from formal suiting or pure streetwear. Today Tarocash operates as one of the brands within Retail Apparel Group, which is wholly owned by South Africa's Foschini Group, and it runs more than 115 stores across Australia and New Zealand.
